Every child should feel safe and welcome at school. Yesenia will continue standing up for immigrant students and families and working to ensure our schools remain places where every student can learn without fear.

  • Make sure families can access school information, services, and opportunities regardless of language or immigration status.
  • Strengthen bilingual education and support for English-language learners.
  • Work with school communities to make sure students and families know their rights and can access the support available to them.

  • Ensure neighborhoods that have historically been overlooked receive their fair share of school resources and improvements.

An elected school board should listen to the people our public schools serve. Yesenia believes parents, students, educators, Local School Councils, and community members should have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their schools.

  • Ensure information is accessible to families regardless of language or background.
  • Demand transparency and accountability in how Chicago Public Schools makes decisions and spends public dollars.
